Thank you for all the information. My husband and I just spent 4 days on Winding Bay. This was our second visit. Our friend Paul Hardy owns Senga Na Lenga down the road from Point of Vue. We love the new cut through and took the kayaks on a lovely ride. We were last there in 2010 and had to drag the kayaks across the road - and this was so much nicer. We hope to be back in 2013. Please keep writing so we can have all the recent news before our next trip.

Marty,

Glad to see that you have started a blog that provides some insight into the Winding Bay area. My family and I are debating whether to visit Winding or Double Bay for a June vacation. I was wondering about the actual 'in water' experience for visitors. Does that bay have a sandy bottom entry? The Google Earth image suggests some structure all along the southern shoreline. I have 2 grandkids to worry about. I do like the fact that at least one reef exists within the bay for snorkling. I suppose one could kayak out in the bay, and do some bottom fishing?

Enjoy your comments. I live between Lower Bogue and The Current. My family built the house in the late 60's, so we've all had a long romance with Eleuthera.
